The Gwinnett County Fair, which has been hosting livestock competitions, fun rides and plenty of funnel cakes for more than seven decades, returns this week to Lawrenceville.
The fair is set to begin Thursday and will continue through Sunday, Sept. 21. Bee Vang, operations manager for the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, will be experiencing her second fair calling the shots.
“Last year was definitely a learning curve,” said Vang, who recalls attending the fair when she was 8 years old. “So many things happened I wasn’t prepared for, and it taught me a lot of good lessons. And it also taught me a lot about working with a carnival, which is such a different monster from anything I’ve ever experienced.”…
