24 Arrested in Major Drug Trafficking Bust in Gwinnett County

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.—A large-scale operation led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has resulted in the arrest of 24 people in connection with a major fentanyl drug trafficking organization.

The GBI’s Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) and the Gwinnett Metro Task Force (GMTF), along with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), executed five search warrants in the Buford area, targeting a drug trafficking organization (DTO) allegedly led by Adrian Bernard Butler, 38.

The investigation, which is described as the first phase of a “lengthy investigation,” revealed that the DTO is responsible for trafficking kilograms of fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine throughout Gwinnett County and northeast Georgia.
