A Cherokee County School District elementary school has been named a Title I Distinguished School for Georgia – for the second time in three years.
Carmel Elementary School ranked among the top 5% of highest-performing Title I schools statewide to earn the 2025 recognition, which it previously won in 2023. Title I is a federal funding program that provides additional funding to qualifying schools. The Georgia Department of Education recognizes K-12 Title I schools for significant progress in improving student achievement.
