Georgia football enters the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry coming off a dominant victory over Kentucky last week. Auburn however is coming off a bye after dropping their first two SEC games of the season.
But even though Georgia and Auburn are heading in different directions, Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze is extremely confident in his team. In fact, he issued a word of warning days before Georgia makes the trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium.
“I know that this team is closer than we’ve ever been in the two-and-a-half years that I’ve been here or so,” Freeze shared via ugawire.usatoday.com. “I’m ready to get us over the hump. I don’t worry about the pressure or any of that.”

Freeze is in the middle of his third season as Auburn’s head coach. So far Freeze is 0-2 against Georgia in his tenure, which includes an ugly 31-13 loss last season in Athens. Freeze’s first matchup against Georgia in 2023 however was a solid showing for his squad as they only lost 27-20 to a UGA team that was ranked No. 1 in the country…
