The Milton Police Department has recently upped their game with the introduction of two new motorcycles, designed to quickly and effectively respond to calls and incidents around town. The addition of these new vehicles was showcased at the recent Crabapple Fest, catching the eyes of many attendees.
Milton PD’s Traffic Unit is expected to be more agile with these bikes, as motorcycles tend to navigate through traffic and crowded areas more fluidly than traditional patrol cars. In order to fully and safely harness the capabilities of these vehicles, Officers Jason Jackson and Brian Stafford were required to undertake ‘Motor School’—a grueling 80-hour training program that encompasses night rides, precision riding, and long-distance handling. They completed their intensive training last month, according to a statement from the city of Milton.
The grueling two-week course finished with a testing ride through the North Georgia mountains, after which the instructor officially pinned Officers Jackson and Stafford as certified operators.
