Two weeks ago Georgia defeated Auburn on the road 20-10. The Tigers started this game as hot as any team possibly could as they took an early 10-0 lead. But that is when disaster struck for Auburn in what many fans believe was a critical mistake by the officials.
Auburn had the ball on the one yard line with about two minutes to play in the first half. The Tigers lined up for a QB sneak and quarterback Jackson Arnold dove over the his linemen for the end zone, but that is when Georgia punched the ball out and recovered the fumble.
The refs ruled that the play was a fumble recovered by Georgia. This play was then reviewed for what felt like hours before ultimately being upheld as the replay booth ruled there wasn’t enough evidence to overturn the call on the field. But fans throughout the country were confident they got it wrong…
