Dacula teen and Gwinnett business owner join forces to spread warmth and hope this winter

A student from Dacula High School is teaming up with a Gwinnett County business owner to make sure people feel warm — both physically and metaphysically — this winter.

Under the auspices of the nonprofit Loved & Protected, Caden Jackson, 15, has for the last 10 years been collecting coats, gloves, hats and scarves to distribute to young people who might otherwise go without during the winter months. Jackson said that through the years he has given out between 8,000 and 9,000 articles of winter clothing to those in need.

“We’ve (helped) children a lot, but now we’re starting to help more teenagers and adults,” he said. “A lot of schools reach out to us, but we also work with agencies to get more connections.”…
