Meadowcreek Wins GHSA Appeal to Drop from Largest Classification

Meadowcreek won its appeal Monday with the Georgia High School Association to drop down a classification for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years.

The GHSA had placed Meadowcreek in Class AAAAAAA, but the high school requested a move down to AAAAAA for competitive reasons over the next two years. Fellow Gwinnett schools Berkmar, Central Gwinnett, Discovery and South Gwinnett also appealed to play in AAAAAA on similar grounds, but their requests were denied.

After the appeals were finished, the GHSA announced its proposed regions for the next cycle and Meadowcreek was placed in Region 4-AAAAAA with fellow Gwinnett school Shiloh, as well as Alcovy, Chamblee, Decatur, Dunwoody, Heritage-Conyers and Midtown…
