‘Forever Grateful’: Man saved from ravine heart attack praises rescuers

“We all got there as a team and did what we were supposed to do,” says rescue team member

A raccoon hunter who found himself stranded deep in the woods near Talking Rock Creek while suffering a heart attack last month came to the county commissioners’ meeting Monday night to thank the people who saved his life.

Chris Standridge said he will be “forever grateful” to the first responders who carried out the difficult rescue. It was a night, Pickens Fire Chief Tim Prather said, that “everyone involved in will remember for a long time.”…
