ART BEAT: Gwinnett photographer Debra Barnhart chronicles the wolf habitat at Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary

Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? Not Debra Barnhart, a Gwinnett-based photographer whose adventures have taken her around the world, capturing images of both flora and fauna.

Wolves intrigue Barnhart. “There is a lot of lore in many cultures surrounding wolves,” she said. “They are alternately seen as fierce, protective, playful, and spiritual. Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome, were raised by a she-wolf. Then there are the myths about werewolves. These things fascinate me!”

Barnhart traveled to Yellowstone National Park last February to photograph wildlife…
