Meals on Wheels is working alongside Action Church to deliver hundreds of Thanksgiving meals to Cherokee County residents.
Brittany Kiser, coordinator for Cherokee County Senior Services Home Delivered Meals, the local Meals on Wheels provider, said volunteers will prepare the meals in bags, which will be distributed to Senior Services clients.
“We gather all of the names of our clients who would need a meal, and then we have volunteers who pick the meals up and deliver it to our clients,” Kiser said. “Meals typically include either turkey or chicken, dressing and gravy, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green beans and a roll or biscuit. There will also be some type of dessert. There is a lot of food.”…
