Dahlonega man killed in head-on collision on Highway 115

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — A Dahlonega man has been identified as the driver killed in a head-on collision Friday night on Highway 115. Lumpkin County Coroner Mark Cox confirmed the victim as 32-year-old Christopher Parker.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. on November 28 near the intersection of Hwy. 115 and Grindle Brothers Road in Murrayville. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Parker was driving a Honda Civic southbound when he failed to maintain his lane. The Civic crossed into the left northbound lane and struck a Kia Sorento, driven by 18-year-old Timmy McDuffie of Demorest, head-on.

Troopers noted in the preliminary crash report that the Kia’s speedometer was stuck at “approximately 55 mph” after the crash. The wreck shut down the highway in both directions for several hours Friday night…
