Forsyth County Board Shares Updates on Park Repairs, Rezoning Pause, and Community Projects

At the December 9, 2025, Forsyth County Board of Commissioners work session, officials provided updates on several community projects. District 1 Commissioner Kerry Hill and District 5 Commissioner Laura Semanson reported on repairs to the Big Creek Greenway. The county is using a design-bid-build process to speed up the work. Renovations at Sharon Springs Park in south Forsyth are also progressing. Plans include connecting the park to the Sexton Hall Senior Services Center and the Tax Commissioner’s Office.

The Board discussed a new agreement with the Forsyth County Board of Education to share fuel sites. This aims to lower costs for county vehicles and school buses. The Board has also enacted a moratorium on residential rezonings in unincorporated Forsyth County.
