More Than 60,000 Pounds of Chicken Recalled Nationwide Over Safety Concerns

With the holiday season in full swing and Christmas and New Year’s celebrations just around the corner, no one wants to get sick before all the festive fun. Even with all the precautions we take—from the products we buy to the foods we eat—sometimes a recall can slip through and affect something already in our possession.

This week, Suzanna’s Kitchen of Suwanee, Ga., announced a recall of nearly 63,000 pounds of fully cooked, bone-in breaded chicken products over a potentially serious safety concern. In partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), both organizations are urging consumers to exercise extreme caution.

The Reason for the Recall

According to the official notice, Suzanna’s Kitchen notified the FSIS that some chicken products were mislabeled with codes indicating they were allergen-free, when they actually contain soy. Because soy is a common allergen that can trigger serious reactions in sensitive individuals, consumers with soy allergies should be especially cautious with these products.

Products Affected

The following chicken product is subject to recall and should be thrown away immediately [view labels]:

  • 8-piece cut, bone-in breaded chicken portions: Produced on Oct. 16, 2025, and packaged in 18-pound cases containing four units of “Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Portions.”
  • Case Code: P-1380 126237 B30851 23:11 K04 (printed on the side of the case)
  • USDA Mark of inspection: Printed on the case label with establishment number P-1380 printed on the side.

How to Proceed Safely

Although there have been no confirmed reports of people getting sick from consuming the above-mentioned products, these cases were shipped to restaurant locations nationwide, so the FSIS is concerned that some may still be in refrigerators or freezers. Anyone concerned about a potential injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider, and restaurants with the affected product in their possession should throw it away immediately.

Who to Contact If You Have Affected Product

While the investigation is ongoing, retail distribution lists will be posted on the FSIS website at fsis.usda.gov/recalls as they become available. In the meantime, questions about the recall can be directed to Dawn Duncan, customer service director at Suzanna’s Kitchen, at [email protected].
