The Gwinnett County Board of Education has finalized its requirements for a new school superintendent.
The qualifications are basically in line with what the school board and search firm Alma Advisory Group have heard from the community the past few months: Someone who can unite a diverse district, has experience with a large system, can close achievement gaps and treat everyone fairly while committing to transparency.
“Our community has been clear about the kind of leader they expect and deserve,” said Board Chair Adrienne Simmons in a press release. “The next superintendent must be student-centered, committed to excellence, and deeply aligned with the values of our diverse and dynamic county.
