Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Recognizes Achievement and Years of Service

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office recently held its annual Christmas Awards Dinner, an event designed to provide an opportunity for fellowship among employees and their families, reflect on the past year, and formally recognize the dedication and hard work of those who serve the citizens of Cherokee County each day.

During the evening, numerous members of the Sheriff’s Office were honored for outstanding performance and achievement in specific areas of service. Lt. Bo Jolly received the award for Most Civil Papers Served. Deputy Gavin Johnson was recognized twice, earning awards for both Most Warrantless Arrests and Most Miles Patrolled. Deputy Rex Leath received the award for Most Trip Miles Traveled, and Sgt. Tom Key was honored for answering the Most Calls for Service.

Additional individual awards were also presented. Investigator Josh Hairston received the Top Shot Award. Sgt. Daniel Holcomb was presented with the Chief’s Leadership Award in recognition of his leadership and commitment to the agency. The Sheriff’s Star of Excellence was awarded to Corrections Officer Ricky Dale Jennings for exemplary service…
