Cameron Grogan with Project Turbo recently joined WDUN’s “The Drive at 5” to discuss the controversial proposal to build a data center on O’Kelly Road in Hall County.
Despite initial approval, the developers withdrew their application to rezone for light industrial use due to the county’s lack of a clear policy on data centers.
“So just want to let everybody know and just to clear up any confusion, we withdrew our application not because we want to walk away, but because it’s just clear that the county has not yet decided if it wants a data center, and if it does, then just we need to all take a step back and come up with some rules and regulations of how those will be developed in the future,” Grogan said.
Grogan added that a policy discussion has not taken place since they applied back in July, and it will not occur in the days leading up to the second voting meeting in January…
