Grayson Segars of Sloan Mill Road near Chestnut Mountain was 2025’s Light Up North Georgia Contest powered by Jackson EMC winner and took some time to speak on WDUN’s “The Drive at 5” on Monday.
“I’ve got … anywhere from 60 to 70 hours myself in it, and I had some help from my brother-in-law and my dad helped … and then my father-in-law helped with a couple of things,” Segars said. “All while with a newborn … I would go and I would put some lights on the roof, go in, change a diaper, feed the baby … come back out and put some more lights up.”
Segars said he is an electrician by trade and a DIY guy at heart. As a result, Segars was the winner of a Turtlebox speaker and tickets to Lanier Islands’ Magical Nights of Lights display courtesy of Jackson EMC.
