ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — So far this year, the American Cancer Society has provided more than 3,800 rides to cancer treatments for patients in Georgia. But it has received twice that many requests, so now, the organization needs more volunteer drivers for its “Road to Recovery” program.
“I don’t drive. I haven’t for a while and to have treatment available and not be to get there is horrible,“ said Carlotta Wilson, who lives in Alpharetta and has had cancer two times.
Wilson often needed chemotherapy and radiation treatments many times a week, so she was grateful to have free rides from Road to Recovery…
