A man was arrested in Gainesville Thursday for allegedly assaulting a family member with an iron skillet.
The Gainesville Police Department said officers were called to the scene of a private residence for an assault. Upon arrival, the 54-year-old female victim had head trauma from the assault with a frying pan.
The victim was reportedly asleep when Maxwell Logan Dorse, 21, allegedly hit her in the head with the iron pan multiple times, in an attempt to render her unconscious to sexually assault her.
The victim was able to overtake Dorse and lock herself in another room until law enforcement could arrive. The victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in stable condition. Dorse was taken into custody without incident…
