First newborn with Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton arrives minutes ahead of twin brother

Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Braselton’s New Year’s baby of 2026 came with an added bonus, as the first newborn is one of twins who born on New Year’s morning.

Officials with NGMC Braselton reported that Koen Anthony Hopper was born at 4:58 a.m. to Brittany and Ryan Hopper of Hoschton. The baby boy weighed in at 5lbs 15.2oz and measured 19.69 inches. Hospital officials added that just sixteen minutes later, his twin brother, Kaden Michael Hopper, was born at 5:14 a.m., weighing in at 4lbs 4.8 oz and measuring 17 inches. The twins were delivered by Dr. David “Holt” Harrison, with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group OB/GYN, and by delivery nurse Courtney Roberts.

The family received a thoughtful gift basket courtesy of the Northeast Georgia Health System Auxiliary and Safe Kids Northeast Georgia. Both the mother and the twins are receiving the best care by NGMC Braselton’s Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby and NICU staff…
