Alpharetta, Georgia – Residents of Alpharetta are being invited to come to a ceremony that will formally start the next term for the city’s leaders. On Monday, January 5, the City Council will meet in Alpharetta City Hall for the 2026 City Council Swearing-In Ceremony. This will mark the official start of service for both returning and newly elected council members.
The celebration will start at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at 2 Park Plaza in downtown Alpharetta. Officials in the city said the ceremony aims to recognize the continuity of leadership while also inviting new voices to the council table. For members who are starting a new term, the evening is a chance to recommit to serving the public. For people who are on the council for the first time, it is a symbolic way to enter city government and all of the responsibilities that come with it.
The swearing-in will happen during a regular council meeting, and the city will send out the whole agenda ahead of time through its usual methods. After the official events, people will be able to join municipal leaders for a reception to celebrate the start of the new term. This will be a good chance to meet council members in a more relaxed setting…
