A developer building homes and commercial space in the River Green area in Canton is seeking permission from city officials to scrap plans for condominiums and instead build more office and retail space there.
On Jan. 8, the Canton City Council held a public hearing to discuss a request from Michelle Horstemeyer, chief operating officer of JW Collection, to amend previous zoning conditions for The Village at River Green to allow commercial and office uses. The applicant is also seeking two variances to eliminate the required gates on private streets and provide sidewalks along one side of the private streets.
