Poole’s attempt to get Cagle Mill Road development reheard shot down in 2-2 vote

At Thursday’s Hall County Commission meeting, District 3 Commissioner Gregg Poole attempted to get an already approved development on Cagle Mill Road reheard by the commission.

The reason? Poole says it’s because a testimony showing the now-removed planning commissioners had staged the vote.

“I recommend we rescind it, do not charge them any fees to come back through the proper planning. They can vote it back in, but at least then it would be done legally without all this luggage on it,” Poole said.

That testimony indicated that in August of 2025, the three planners said that District 3 appointee Stan Hunt would motion to recommend denial of a large residential development on Cagle Mill Road, that motion would fail, and then another planning commissioner would vote to recommend approval.
