9 Indicted On RICO Charges In Car Title Fraud Scheme In Georgia

Authorities in Georgia say nine people have been indicted in a vehicle title fraud scheme following a six-month investigation.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said investigators were alerted in June 2025 to a title fraud scheme allegedly run by 46-year-old Brandy Marie Pitts and 61-year-old Susan Faye Palencia, who each owned multiple LLCs operating out of Gainesville, in collusion with multiple car dealerships in Hall County, including K&M Auto Sales, In House Auto Finance and Go Auto Sales.

According to investigators, local car dealers sold older-model, high-mileage vehicles to “elevated prices” to unlicensed drivers. Because unlicensed people can’t legally register a vehicle, sales associates at the dealerships sent those customers to Pitts and Palencia, who charged “hundreds of dollars” to register the vehicles under their corporation names…
