Heartbreaking as Georgia man died after running back into burning home to save family dog

In Atlanta, Georgia, a man succumbed to injuries from a house fire after he ran back into his burning home to save the family dog.

Firefighters from the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, arrived at the home Sunday evening after a report the house had been engulfed in flames, and residents were still inside. Firemen rushed into the home and rescued a victim in the entryway. One person in the home woke up and noticed the flames. He ran into the bedroom to save his mother. Neighbors came to the woman’s aid as the two exited the burning home before firemen arrived.

It had been at that time the son rushed back into the home to rescue the family dog, Captain. Body camera video showed Lilburn police officers trying to rescue the man who had just saved his mother…
