A man has been arrested after authorities said he stole electronic tablets from a business in Gainesville over the holidays.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said James Vernon Miller, age 48, was arrested this week on multiple charges each of theft by receiving stolen property and entering an automobile to commit theft. The investigation reportedly started in early January.
“The office manager at Total Imaging, Inc. on Atlas Circle in Gainesville filed a report with a Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputy indicating several Samsung tablets had been stolen from company fleet vehicles,” the sheriff’s office said. “The vehicles had been parked at the business between Dec. 20, 2025 and Jan. 5, 2026, when the business was closed for the holidays.”
Weeks later, on Wednesday, Jan. 21, Gainesville Police officers reportedly found Miller while responding to a trespassing call on Hilton Drive. When they found Miller, he allegedly had five Samsung tablets in his possession…
