Gwinnett County Public Schools is about to announce a plan to use a tool traditionally used for kids with learning or behavioral issues as a way to potentially address the issue of kindergarten “redshirting” — but it won’t be a guarantee that the kids can still enroll in kindergarten when they are 6.
On Wednesday night, interim Superintendent Al Taylor told parents at Simpson Elementary School that the district may announce next week an expedited student support team, or SST for short, process that will be used for children whose parents opted to “redshirt” them.
