FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Forsyth County prepared for the worst ahead of a winter storm that blanketed Metro Atlanta with ice Sunday, Jan. 25.
Days ahead of the weather, county officials began preparations, issuing bulletins and advisories on their webpage and social media channels, the county said.
On Jan. 23, water and sewer plants were winterized, road and bridge crews prepared de-icing materials and salted roadways, and the Parks and Recreation Department rescheduled outdoor events. Staff also met with emergency personnel to review plans and National Weather Service forecasts.
