At long last, the Longhorn Steakhouse restaurant at Gateway Crossing in Jasper has opened. Longhorn joins Chik-fil-A, Chicken Salad Chick, Chipotle, Tropical Smoothie Café and the coming Unami Tavern, and even Publix as places to enjoy food or drink at the corner of Highway 515 and Camp Road.
Longhorn has been conducting staff training and had soft opening events February 6 and 7 as the last step in the training process. Starting February 10, hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Longhorn will have call ahead waiting that will allow customers to call the restaurant to see if there is a wait and can add their name to the waiting list. Curbside pick-up is also available.
With its first restaurant opening in Atlanta in 1981, Longhorn became a local favorite when stranded motorists during the 1982 Snow Jam, a freak snowstorm, streamed into Longhorn for warmth and food…
