Large fire damages several homes in Gwinnett County neighborhood

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Five homes were damaged and one person was medically treated when a large fire broke out in a Gwinnett County neighborhood late Friday afternoon.

It happened shortly after 3 p.m. at Tucker Mobile Home Park, in the area of Gardenia Road and Pine Court, near Tucker. It took crews until around 5:30 p.m. to knock the fire down.

“As we’ve seen, historically fire spreads rapidly in these manufactured home communities,” said Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson Cpt. Ryan McGiboney. “They’re very close, as you can tell. There’s a lot of people that live in this neighborhood, so life safety was an immense concern while our crews were working.”…
