Gainesville Man arrested after ramming wife’s vehicle in Baldwin

A Gainesville man was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 10, after he allegedly used his vehicle as a weapon at a gas station in Baldwin.

The Baldwin Police Department said when officers arrived at around 4:58 p.m., they learned that Balmer Alexis Melgar Ayala, 29, of Gainesville, had allegedly used his vehicle to ram another vehicle in the parking lot.

Melgar Ayala was driving a 2014 Nissan Sentra when he struck a 2015 Ford F-150 driven by his 29-year-old wife.

The impact pinned the woman inside her truck, temporarily restricting her movement. She was eventually able to pull the truck forward and get out safely…
