Braselton man arrested after verbal altercation turns physical

A Braselton man was arrested on Friday, Feb. 13, after he allegedly prevented a woman from leaving the scene and hit her in the face.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Terry Edwin Burdette, 58, and the 56-year-old victim were engaged in a verbal argument at a home on Trellis Way when he became angry and held the victim down to strangle her.

Burdette allegedly hit the victim in the face with a closed fist. When she tried to leave, Burdette physically prevented her from exiting the door to a basement living area where the altercation occurred,

Hall County deputies responded to the scene just before 5 p.m. and met with the victim. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries…
