Automated park pass gate system approved for Forsyth County’s Mary Alice Park

Forsyth County Parks & Recreation will introduce a new park pass and automated gate system at Mary Alice Park later this spring. The purpose is to enhance park operations, improve visitor flow and support parking enforcement efforts. The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners approved the Department of Parks & Recreation’s request to install the gated VenTek system during its meeting on Thursday, February 19.

Officials say the upgraded system is projected to streamline the payment process, improve traffic flow and assist with parking enforcement and overall park safety.

Forsyth County Department of Parks & Recreation Director Kirk Franz says, “Mary Alice Park is one of our most frequented lake parks, and we are continuously looking for new ways to enhance our visitors’ experiences.
