Fran Mar Drive South in northwest Hall County will close starting next week as the Sardis Connector project continues.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) issued a statement on Monday, Mar. 2, saying that Fran Mar Drive South will close starting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Mar. 9, as a new intersection is built on Sardis Road with the new Sardis Connector.
The Sardis Connector is a new 3.55-mile, four-lane divided highway that is being built to connect Ga. 60/Thompson Bridge Road in the Murrayville area to Sardis Road, eventually connecting with Ga. 53/Dawsonville Highway. Construction on the $86 million project began in April of 2025.
