HALL COUNTY, Ga. — An interim sheriff has been appointed in Hall County after the previous sheriff was suspended following a DUI arrest.
Chief Superior Court Judge Jason Deal appointed Major Chris Matthews as interim sheriff on Wednesday, March 18. Matthews will assume all duties and responsibilities of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office immediately, as the previous sheriff, Gerald Couch begins his suspension.
Couch was suspended for 60 days after he reportedly admitted to drinking multiple highly-concentrated alcoholic beverages and was arrested on a DUI charge on Feb. 27…
