A major new psychiatric hospital is preparing to welcome its first patients in Dallas, marking a significant expansion of Texas’ mental health care system and offering hope for reducing long-standing shortages of psychiatric treatment beds across the state.

The facility, known as the Texas Behavioral Health Center, was officially unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by state officials, healthcare leaders, and community stakeholders. Located near Harry Hines Boulevard and Medical District Drive in Dallas, the hospital represents one of the largest recent investments in mental health infrastructure in Texas.

Hundreds of Millions Invested in Mental Health Care

The Texas Behavioral Health Center was constructed through a partnership involving state and local healthcare organizations.
