Richardson residents raise concerns over noise from Amazon drone deliveries

RICHARDSON, Texas — Amazon’s Prime Air drone delivery service is bringing packages to some North Texas customers in less than 30 minutes, but the technology is also drawing complaints from residents who say the drones are creating unwanted noise in their neighborhoods.

The service, which uses autonomous drones to deliver eligible household essentials, electronics and medications, has expanded in Richardson. While some residents praise the convenience, others say the sound of frequent flights overhead has become disruptive.
