Dallas Police Chief Daniel C. Comeaux announced updates Tuesday to the department’s uniforms and personal appearance general orders, allowing greater flexibility for officers while maintaining professional standards.
A single nose stud is also permitted on either side of the nose. Approved options include a plain gold or silver metallic ball or circular flat stud no larger than 1.5 millimeters in diameter, or a single clear, round-cut gemstone of the same size. Prohibited items include dangling elements, textured designs, colored gemstones, multiple studs, hoops, rings, or any other decorative nose jewelry.
