Dallas mother sentenced to 25 years in prison for death of baby left in hot car in Frisco

A Dallas mother has been found guilty of murder by a Collin County jury months after police said she left her 15-month-old in a vehicle on a day when temperatures topped 90 degrees.

Vanessa Esquivel, 28, of Dallas, was arrested in August 2025 following the death of her child, according to the Frisco Police Department.
