State fair attendee issues hydration warning sign as extreme heat forced people indoors

Those who decided to spend their Independence Day at the Great American State Fair were greeted with triple-degree temperatures, long lines, and literally no shade.

While some spent the day celebrating the country’s 250th anniversary, others simply battled to stay hydrated and cool amid the heat wave. One attendee, a former military member, spoke to the Mirror U.S. at length about how she drew on her training to regulate her body.

Tammy Bradley, who came to the nation’s capital from North Carolina, offered advice for those who were simply not used to the stifling heat of the day. “I would tell them that they would definitely need to be in the shade, like maybe every 15, 20 minutes to be in the shade, definitely drinking,” she told The Mirror U.S…
