Sick of traffic to DFW airport? A highway revamp may be done sooner than planned

A highway revamp that could reduce drivers’ travel time to the DFW airport may be completed ahead of schedule.

The more than $400 million project along the Northeast Loop 820/Airport Freeway corridor will add a general purpose lane going each direction on Northeast Loop 820 stretching from Riverside Drive to Boulevard 26, according to a presentation from TEXpress. It also adds a toll lane going each way along Texas 121/183, spanning Bedford Euless Road to Industrial Boulevard.

The project’s official completion date is early 2027, but Pablo Ferrando, the CEO at LBJ, NTE and NTE-35W Express Lanes, is hopeful it could be done this year before Thanksgiving, he said in a Friday interview with the Star-Telegram…
