The neighbors were angry, the developer listened and responded. Centurion American drastically scaled back the site plans for a single-family patio home community west of Preston Hollow off Walnut Hill Lane near Marsh Lane. Originally proposed for 60 homes, Centurion reduced the density nearly in half — down to 37 homes, and added 16.8% of open space that will feature two pickleball courts and paved walking trails.
“We worked closely with two neighborhood associations, Wimberly Court and Walnut Hill Homeowners Association — 900 members,” Leo Amaya, a spokesman for Centurion American, told CandysDirt.com. “We went through 24 iterations of this plan out of concern for the surrounding community.”
While neighbors have been concerned about the homes’ height and density, the Centurion spokesman says they listened. Initially, all 60 proposed homes were slated to be three stories. Now, only 12 will be three-story and sited to be the least disruptive, Centurion says. They will be placed along Walnut Hill Lane, backing to the local fire station — not the nearby neighborhood.
