FORT WORTH, Texas — A federal jury convicted a North Texas clinic owner Kevin D. Curry in a $26 million scheme to defraud the military health benefits program TRICARE, the Justice Department said.
According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Curry, 64, billed TRICARE for medically unnecessary or unprovided transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy. He also paid more than $5.5 million in kickbacks to active-duty service members, veterans and their families, officials said.
Curry’s clinics billed TRICARE for more than $26 million in fraudulent claims, and the program paid about $17 million. He spent some proceeds on hotels, a casino-themed party and a gold-plated Tesla Cybertruck worth more than $100,000…
