Several people were injured and a hazmat team was deployed to a Texas highway after an 18-wheeler struck a barrier and overturned, sending more than 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilling onto the road.
According to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth and the Dallas Morning News, emergency services were first called to Dallas’ Interstate 20 — near the Dallas North Tollway at Loop 12, one of the city’s central roadways — for the multi-vehicle collision just after 11 a.m. local time on Friday, Sept. 25.
Police and fire officials said an 18-wheeler driving in the southbound lane reportedly struck several cars before crashing into a wall.
Dallas Fire-Rescue confirmed to the Morning News that 911 callers who reported the incident told dispatchers that six vehicles were involved, including the 18-wheeler, which rolled onto its side after the collision…
