Flash flooding is possible, as the very dry soil will not be able to soak up heavy rain quickly enough.
Heavy Rain Arrives Wednesday and Lasts Into the Weekend
Rain is expected to begin Wednesday and continue in rounds through the end of the week. The heaviest rainfall is forecast between Wednesday and Friday, with additional showers possible into the weekend.

Dallas and San Antonio Lead Projected Totals
Dallas is projected to receive about 6.87 inches, the highest total among major cities on the forecast map. San Antonio is close behind with about 6.32 inches, putting both metro areas in line for a serious soaking.
The heaviest rain is focused along a corridor stretching from southern Oklahoma through the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, down through central Texas, and into South Texas. Cities such as Waco, Austin, and Temple sit within this zone of heavy rainfall.
Houston, Oklahoma, and West Texas See Lower Totals
