Dallas Police Reclassify Hospital District Death After Injuries Found Not Consistent With Gunshot

DALLAS – A death initially investigated as a fatal shooting in the Dallas Hospital District has been reclassified as an unexplained death after a medical examiner’s preliminary review found the man’s injuries did not appear to be gunshot wounds.

Dallas police responded at approximately 4:20 a.m. Sept. 23 to the 2900 block of Maple Springs Boulevard near Maple Avenue.

The initial investigation indicated that a man had been shot by an unknown person who fled before officers arrived. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later…
