Man Arrested After Climbing Into Irving Police Department Secured Area, Head-Butting Jail Officer

IRVING, Texas – A man who climbed a fence into a restricted area of the Irving Police Department was arrested Sunday and later accused of head-butting a correctional officer while being processed into jail.

The Sept. 27 incident began at about 10:07 when a resident called Irving police to report an unknown man banging on the front door of her home in the 300 block of North O’Connor Road, across the street from the police station.

While the call was being handled, Lt. Summers looked out an office window and saw a man climb over a fence and enter a controlled-access area of the Police Department. The man matched the description provided by the 911 caller…
