Dallas, Fort Worth have the worst drivers in America, study says

DALLAS (KDAF) — Pump the breaks, and look both ways Texas! Are those seatbelts fastened? According to a new study, chances are they aren’t. Forbes Advisor just put out a new study claiming that North Texans just can’t drive.

The study compared all 50 states and identified cities where drivers had the worst driver engagement and accidents, according to the study.

Three of the top worst cities included Dallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio. Dallas came in at number six due to the number of fatal car accidents involving drunk drivers. The city has the third highest number of drunk driver accidents with 6.25 residents per 100,000 residents involved in accidents, according to Forbes Advisor.

Fort Worth came in ninth place, with the fifth highest reports of fatal car crashes due to drunk drivers. The city also has the eleventh-highest number of distracted driver-involved crashes, the study mentioned.

Three of the top 10 best drivers were located in California: San Franciso, Oakland and San Diego. For the full complete list, click here.
