Tragic Father-Son Drowning: A Hero’s Sacrifice

On Saturday, October 5, at 1:37 pm, Dallas Fire Rescue was sent to a water recovery call on Mountain Creek Lake near the 3000 block of Mountain Creek Parkway.

A father identified as 26-year-old Fernando Carlos and his son 6-year-old Noah Carlos both drowned over the weekend. The 6-year-old son was fishing in the creek and fell in. The child was swept underwater

The boy’s father jumped in after the child and was also swept under in the powerful current, and the other relative members of the boat couldn’t save him.

The father was found dead after being swept underwater in Dallas on Saturday. The little boy’s body was retrieved on a shoreline in Grand Prairie on Sunday afternoon.

“We offer our deepest condolences to the victims’ families during this sad time,” wrote the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Relatives identified the young boy as Noah, characterizing him as a playful child with a fondness for music, dancing, and the game Fortnite.
